We have set up an email list for singles to receive up-to-date information on singles events by emails. We utilize a Yahoo email group to manage this email list. To join the Portland singles e-mail list, just send an e-mail with no contents to the following e-mail address:

pdx_ldss_news-subscribe@yahoogroups.com  (Please note that there is a "_" character between pdx and ldss and between ldss and news-subscribe.) 

Yahoo will send you an e-mail to confirm your request to join the e-mail list after they receive your email. Reply to Yahoo's confirmation e-mail (by clicking "Reply" and then "Send").

That’s it!!! You are now a member of the e-mail list and you will start to receive e-mails on singles activities in the future.

The name of our Yahoo e-mail group is pdx_ldss_news. If you want to have the ability to look at the monthly activity calendar on a Yahoo webpage in addition to receiving e-mails on singles activities, please follow the following few steps:

1. Go to the pdx_ldss_news group's webpage (with an internet browser):

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pdx_ldss_news

2. On this webpage, click on the "JOIN THIS GROUP" button (located above the description of the group). A new "Welcome to Yahoo" page will be displayed.

3. If you already have a Yahoo account, sign in by typing in your account ID and password on the right side of the page. A new page will be displayed. Follow the directions on the page and click on “JOIN” when you are finished. You have now joined the group with the ability to access the group's webpage. Skip step 4.

4. If you don't have a Yahoo account yet, click on "Sign up now" on the left side of the page. You will be requested to provide some personal information to create a new Yahoo account. (There is no cost to have a basic Yahoo account.) When you finish creating your new Yahoo account, you have now joined the group with the ability to access the group's webpage.

After you join the group, you can review the monthly activity calendar by following the following steps:

1. Go to the group's webpage (with the internet browser):

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pdx_ldss_news

2. Click on "Sign in to Yahoo" on the left and sign in with your Yahoo ID and password. After you sign in, the group's webpage should be displayed again. Read the description on the webpage and follow the directions for accessing the calendar.
